The HBO series The Leftovers, created by Damon Lindelof and Tom Perrotta, aired over three seasons between 2014 – 2017 and was scored by Max Richter. Based on Perrotta’s novel of the same name, the series follows the Garvey family three years after the "Sudden Departure" of 2% of the worlds population on October 14, 2011. In the series, this inexplicable, simultaneous disappearance of 140 million people, inspired the formation of the religious organization The Guilty Remnant to live as ‘Living Reminders’.
The series stars an ensemble cast featuring Justin Theroux, Amy Brenneman, Christopher Eccleston, Liv Tyler, Chris Zylka, Margaret Qualley, Carrie Coon, Ann Dowd, Regina King, Jovan Adepo, Kevin Carroll, Janel Moloney, and Scott Glenn.
